This ancient lake is one of only two large natural lakes in Nevada. Vast and beautiful, it is a must-see for visitors in the area who love nature and the great outdoors. At 38,000 acres Walker Lake is a scenic and popular spot for camping, boating, swimming, and water skiing.
Sportsman’s Beach provides 31 different camping areas, with two undeveloped camping areas. There is also camping available along the shorelines of Tamarack Beach and Twenty Mile Beach. RVs and tent campers are welcome.
Walker Lake is a pristine spot for a variety migratory birds including loons, harlequin ducks, snow geese, and white pelicans. You can also see wildlife such as bighorn sheep, pronghorn antelope, and wild horses.
